Troy Yancey installed as 51st President of Blue Ridge Home Builders Association
Troy Yancey, owner of TEAL Construction in Charlottesville, VA was installed as the 51st President of the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association during the BRHBA Annual Installation Dinner.
The event was sponsored by Dominion Virginia Power. The keynote speaker was Jen Jacobs, Executive Director at the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program (AHIP). Ms. Jacobs spoke extensively on the “Safe at Home” Program. “Promoting our partnership with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Association of Realtors and AHIP’s Safe at Home program is a primary goal for me this year.” said Yancey during his acceptance speech.
The annual dinner attracts numerous builders each year. Twelve BRHBA Past Presidents gathered to welcome Mr. Yancey into his new role, along with over 100 guests attending the dinner.
The President of the BRHBA helps to serve as the advocate and resource for the area home building industry and to be the voice of the home building industry facilitating sustainable growth within our community. In addition to promoting the “Safe at Home” program, Yancey plans to help create more tangible BRHBA Member benefits, hold two highly-successful trade shows; The Home & Garden Show and the Parade of Homes, increase association membership and hold builder round-table meetings.
Candidates for President as well as other officers are nominated by the Executive Committee of the BRHBA. The Board of Directors votes and approves of the nominations. Past Presidents of the BRHBA at the dinner included Randy Rinehart, Chuck Rotgin, Chuck Lebo, Sam Craig, Mike West, Ginger Slavic, Mike Gaffney, Doug Kingma, David Foresman, Duncan Macfarlane, Frank Ballif and outgoing President, Charlie Armstrong.
